Pope Pius XI: Cryptozoologist CFI BlogsMike Dash, with a little help from his friends, uncovers a portrait of a famous Pope who was faced with the rise of Nazism and the worldwide discord of the turbulent 1930s, but was still able to puzzle over the cryptozoological story of that decade, the reports of a large and unexplained creature swimming through the waters of Loch Ness. Dash’s report tells how Abbot Oswald, Sir David Hunter-Blair before he took the vows, met with Pope Pius XI in the Vatican and spoke with the Pontiff about the creature, including Abbot Oswald’s own 40-minute sighting. And there’s more Loch Ness Monster lore in William B. Stoecker’s The Dragon in the Loch. Elsewhere, Neil Arnold uncovers another 1930s era story that shows the problems encountered in solving the Big Cats in Britain question with The Sussex Lion Hoax. There’s also more video footage of the speakers from the recent Weird Weekend 2010 event in WW2010: Colonel John Blashford-Snell; WW2010: Mike Hallowell on Stage; and WW2010: Unscheduled Guest John Hanson.Hat tip to www.Anomalist.com
