Action item-1: Email or telephone the City Council politely urging that they convene the independent, unbiased task force/committee the Environmental Board envisioned.

Action item-2: Email or telephone the City Council politely urging an end to water fluoridation, based on mounting scientific evidence of harm, uselessness for its professed purpose of improving children’s dental health, and cost issues.

Action item-3: Contact Assistant City Manager Rudy Garza to politely let him know that we, the public, are the largest group of stakeholders and we demand a place at the table.

Summary:

ClimateGate, as it’s come to be known, is a very difficult issue to deal with, not because of the nature of the information, but due to the way in which it was obtained. The long and the short of it is, someone hacked into a server containing certain documents and emails and has now made the contents thereof public.

The video linked here contains short snippets of those emails and documents in an attempt to display the nature of the scientists and the science used to justify claims of Anthropogenic (man-made) Global Warming (AGW).

Riad Hamad died on April 14, 2008 in Austin, Texas, He was a tireless advocate for Palestinians, and especially women and children living in the occupied West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon. He created the Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund and raised millions of dollars through this organization for schools, charitable organizations, and hospitals.

We cannot begin to express our sorrow at the death of this fine man who has helped so many and asked for so little. Many of you have written to tell us how much he has done and how much he will be missed. We are grateful for the outpouring of affection, and we want to assure everyone who has been a part of PCWF that its mission will continue.

One of you wrote of Riad: As beautiful a human being as I have ever met…His charisma, energy, and positive outlook were contagious. He loved the children of Palestine and worked tirelessly on their behalf…He would rather sleep in his car than pay for a hotel room so that he could save the money and send it to the children of Palestine…It was never about him, only the children of Palestine.

In the wake of reports that Explorer Scouts are being “trained in post-9/11 law enforcement methods“, a group of youngsters have been captured on video working in tandem with police in St. Petersburg, Florida, at a christmas fair.

We Are Change activists spotted the group roaming the streets during the parade, clearly wearing clothing adorned with police insignia.

When the group were asked what they were doing at the parade, the lead scout became extremely secretive about their association with the local police department and attempted to hide their badges and jackets.

The group described themselves as “very similar” to academy police, and told the activists that they were “looking for lost kids”.

“We are affiliated with them but we do not have the powers of police… we are a part of the department I guess.” the leader of the group told We Are Change, adding that they routinely ride along with officers on active duty.

The young girl seemed to back track after continued questioning, later stating “it is a volunteer organisation, it has nothing to do with the police.”

However, the squad of 14-19 year olds stood to attention, military style, when a police officer arrived on the scene, with lowly “green shirts” ordered to take the back of the line.

“If we went into Martial law or a state of emergency, they’re here to protect everyone else.” one of the other members of the group said when asked why he wanted to be affiliated with the police.

When asked if they had heard of the Hitler Youth, the at-first voluntary but later mandatory youth corps brigade that succeeded the Boy Scout movement In Nazi Germany, the scouts replied that they had.

Police officers in St. Petersburg refused to answer questions regarding the squad of scouts.
