On May 12, 2006 in Peoria, Illinois, the attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) begged the court to dismiss all charges against IRS victim Robert Lawrence in federal District Court. The motion for dismissal came on the heels of a surprise tactic by Lawrence?s defense attorney Oscar Stilley. The tactic threatened exposure of IRS?s on-going efforts to defraud the public. The move put DOJ attorneys in a state of panic that left them with only one alternative: beg for dismissal, with prejudice. Full Story

Yesterday, President George Bush thought he was going to a typical White House East Room photo op with this year's Presidential Scholars after which he planned to give a rah-rah speech in favor of the renewal of No Child Left Behind. Little did he know that the Scholars had a little surprise prepared for him. Prior to entering the room, they handed him a letter signed by 50 of their number asking that he treat the detainees in Guantanamo Bay humanely. Can you say courageous? The President was caught off guard, but he read the letter and guaranteed the young people that the United States does not mistreat its prisoners. (!) With video.
In a world where many adults think it's just fine to poke fun at teenagers or rake them over the coals for being stupid, lazy and mercenary, it feels good to report that those silly adults have got it all wrong. As we News Hounds have learned in the past few weeks, high school students bravely and successfully faced down the vicious and bombastic Bill O'Reilly. And now they have exercised their rights as Americans to personally address their President.
We want to applaud these young people for having the guts to do what the adults who surround the President have been unwilling or unable to do for the past six years, i.e., tell him the truth to his face.
Here are the official White House photos of some of these high school heroes whom we view as the the hope of the future.
In his remarks the President said "… This is a program that honors high school seniors for exceptional academic and artistic achievements. Past winners have gone on to win the Pulitzer Prize, succeed at the highest levels of business, work here at the White House. This afternoon we honor a new class of promising young men and women. Your fellow scholars have pursued groundbreaking research, written scholarly papers, and performed at Carnegie Hall. Many of you have also reached out to those in need, and have given your time for causes greater than any individual need. And for that we thank you.
They also demonstrated that they have what it takes to speak truth to power!
Anderson Cooper covered this story on his show (video below).
So far, FOX News has ignored it. Surprise, surprise!
A court room in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is buzzing with questions after CCTV footage revealed a glowing ball of light meandering through the car park last Friday.
One theory put forward is that a bug ambling across the camera's lens picked up the sun's light and was thus superimposed on the scene. This seems more believable than another suggestion - ball lightning. Others have mentioned an incident that happened 20 years ago at the courthouse, in which a man was killed after bringing a rifle to the building and taking several people hostage – could the light be his ghost finally exiting the building?
Sally Saunders, assistant to the District Judge, seemed pleased at any rate that it had happened. “Now we have something to talk about,” she said.
A supporter of Ed and Elaine Brown was arrested Wednesday night on his way to a board of selectmen meeting on charges that he sent a threatening e-mail to a Lebanon, N.H., city councilor.
Lebanon police said longtime anti-government activist Joseph Haas, of Concord, N.H., sent the e-mail to nine Lebanon city councilors, several state officials, and New Hampshire state police personnel.
In the e-mail, Haas wrote, "Either you do your job, or get of the way." The e-mail also said, "Wise up or die."
The Browns were convicted of tax evasion and are facing jail time. The couple refuses to surrender to federal authorities and have said they will defend themselves to the death.
In the e-mail, Haas said that the state and local officials should be protecting the Browns from the U.S. Marshals Service. Federal officials have maintained a presence near the Browns' Plainfield home, and earlier this month, armored vehicles and bomb-disposal units arrived at the property while a warrant was served at a commercial property owned by the couple in Lebanon.
Haas said that he was expressing his free speech rights by writing the e-mail and that the "wise up or die" statement was a play on the state motto, "Live free or die."
In 2005, Haas was accused of sending a threatening letter to state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte. Those charges were later thrown out.
Haas was released Wednesday night on personal recognizance bail.
Supporters of the Browns plan to hold a candlelight vigil Thursday night in a parking lot at Gunstock resort. Organizers said they expect about 60 people to attend.
Author and anthropology expert Michael Crichton explains why he believes Environmentalism has become a new form of Religionand why that spells bad news for any real environmental threat facing the planet.
Comment: Local news channel WMUR has a report on the conference. As we expected they jumped on the fact that Ed Brown initially waited for the Alex Jones show to comeback from break before beginning the conference, stating "Ed Brown held a phone conversation simultaneously". A portion of the Conference can be viewed at this local ABC website. We will post a youtube of the full conference as soon as it becomes available.
Calling the federal agents surrounding his fortified compound "guns for hire," a New Hampshire man convicted of tax evasion vowed today that he and his wife would fight U.S. marshals to the death if they tried to capture them.

In this previously unseen bonus archive edition, Alex revisits some of the key news stories of the past few months, including the Iranian hostage crisis, the "confession" of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the blanket amnesty program, and the abuse of the Texas Youth Commission, who were caught raping teenage prisoners in their facilities.
Later in the show, Alex discusses how top Wall Street brokers admit that the stock market, the derivatives market and the Chicago Mercantile is completely rigged for the benefit of insiders and elitists, and also analyzes a Hannity and Colmes hit piece on Charlie Sheen and the 9/11 truth movement. Webster Tarpley also make a guest appearance.
