Gardasil is one of the Merck's brightest lights as the company faces lawsuits, layoffs and the looming patent expiration of its top earner, Zocor. Merck faces 9,200 lawsuits from plaintiffs who blame Vioxx, the $2.5 billion arthritis painkiller Merck pulled off the market in 2004, for heart attacks, many of them fatal. So far, Merck lost the first state case but won the second. The third case, in federal district court, was declared a mistrial. Merck has lost about a third of its stock value since the withdrawal.

On Thursday a federal judge has ordered the New York Police Department to stop videotaping innocent protesters at political demonstrations. The judge ruled the police have repeatedly violated what is known as the Handschu guidelines that dictate how the police carries out political investigations. Part Two

My take on Anarchy, as limited as that is. It serves as a once-over. Had this one rolling around for a long time, and I'm glad to FINALLY get it out there under the "Brainwashed" series.

One note about this: I really neglected to properly give the impression of how huge this movement is. It's monumental. It makes the rebellion of the 60s look quaint. A media blackout has the non-participants fooled into thinking there's nothing for them to do. THAT's why this appears in the "Brainwashed" series.

And it does it without a leader, OR needing everybody to be "on the same page".

Think about that.
